2012 ABI is ready for the summer and GROWING..!

As 2012 summer approaches, we are getting ready for the upcoming season. Anchorage is bustling with activity getting ready for the summer season. Tourism in Alaska has increased and we are prepared to meet  backpackers’ needs.

Travel is changing right along with the world. More and more people are looking for affordable travel. They still want the experiences and adventures but at a reduced cost. Hostels meet that need.  They allow travelers of all ages to benefit from enjoying their trip without the high cost of the experience.

Whether you’re a King Salmon fisherman, bear hunter, ice climber, or avid hiker,  Alaska provides a diverse experience.  We frequently hear from people all over the world that Alaska has been their dream. Alaska Backpackers Inn or ABI, as we endearingly call her, provides you the opportunity to make that dream a possibility and visit us in The Last Frontier.

With that in mind… we’ve listened, we took notes and we’re expanding!

Inroducing Backpackers Annex  ABI’s sister hostel!

At ABI our mission is to provide clean, safe and affordable housing in a fun and social environment.

We’ve enthusiastically taken on the challenge of providing more private rooms with better service at the same economical rates. We will be offering updated rooms with an urban feel in the annex building (less than one block away on the same street)!  We are now providing full one bedroom private suites with full kitchens and bathrooms. Our annex building is in the midst of transforming this summer into a sister hostel for ABI.

In addition to adding more rooms, we will also be offering dining room service. Our guests will be able to enjoy a wide variety of menu items from the comfort of their rooms. In the process, we have given all the rooms their own temperature control gauge for individual comfort.

With growth comes excitement and sometimes a bit of confusion. We look forward to and thank you for your business and patronage this summer. We are striving to meet as many of your needs as an economical and traveler friendly hostel can.

Getting ready to plan your summer 2012 vacation?

We are currently taking reservations for the 2012 summer (April 15 – October 15). You can use our booking page on the website to reserve your room. OUR PRIVATE ROOMS WERE A BIG SELLER THIS SUMMER AND WE RAN OUT OF AVAILABILITY QUICKLY.  THE SOONER YOU BOOK THE BETTER. We have lots of new surprises and upgrades for this coming summer. A lot of positive changes are coming!Our prices will still be the same as in 2011.
